Hi I have read a lot threads regarding battery life and issues but I decided to post here since Verizon responds to these posts. Whenever I charge my phone I unplug it after the light turns green and its fully charged, after reading one of the forums I tried charging till the light turned green then I turned off the phone and to my surprise the light changed from green to orange and the phone continued on charging for another 30 minutes until it turned green. Is there a problem with the battery or the phone software recognizing fully charge too early?
I would appreciate any advice

i'm not sure if it's an issue. i've done that though a couple times and did not notice any extended battery life? fyi....you can get 2 batteries and an external wall charger on ebay for $12 (total...it's one set). that's what i did and i just replace the battery each morning so i only have to charge all three batteries every 3rd night.

Hi I have actually noticed a difference because before after less than an hour the battery would read close to 90% but now its taking much longer, the reason for my post is that if the light is green when the phone is on and it says fully charged why can one charge for an extra 30 min when the phone is off? does this mean that the battery is not fully charged when the phone is on?
( P.S I am getting all day worth of work from the battery and wouldnt change this phone for anything

not sure...but i know what you're talkin about. i've not tracked it in small increments of time. i've only noticed that either way, i get just about 30 hours so i don't mess with it. i love it too and i know it'd be nice to get 2-3 days....but the people complaining about it expect too much imo. the phones are insane....and are going to require more juice than older ones that you may have got 2-3 out of. i'm happy with a full day!!

same here Who doesnt want a phone that can last 2-3 days without charging? I am happy with the battery life even though it could be better and i hope with an OTA they can improve it a a little. As long as i get a whole day with it im happy

It has been 4 hours since i have charged the phone and its down to 91% i am sure this charging the phone while off after it was fully charged did really charge the fun to the full 100%, Any other suggestions?

I have a different phone but still android phone. I know it charges faster when my phone is turned off completely. When I turn it on and use it say for awhile....then put it on the charger again it'll be that light orange color. Why? My guess would because I used the phone. It took away some battery life. The battery life could use some improvements agreed there.

Hi and thank you for your response. I dont think you read my original post completely . The issue i was having is that the phone charges for an extra 30 minutes after it was fully charged but it was turned off after the light was green.

When the phoen is powered on, it is using power fromt eh battery and while it is charging the battery is being charged but you are using juice from the battery at the same time. So there is technically no way a phone can be fully charged while it is still on using the same battery you are charging.
Assumption would be a little more time on a battery that is charged with the phone off. Your phone will charge faster with it off as well, because again you aren't using the juice while it is charging.

ok i understand what you mean, but since i have charged it this way the battery life has increased significantly which shows " " the 100% green light when the phone is on does not really mean the phone is fully charged. All im looking for is for other users who are experiencing the same effect and for verizon tech person(or HTC) on this forum to respond to the issue.

I am battling the same thing. Unfortunately, mine doesn't hold a charge for an hour anymore......I have even done a factory reset, still no better.
