Droid Incredible screen not responding?

Hello,

I have a Droid Incredible and the screen just randomly freezes and then I have to push the lock/unlock switch. When the screen comes back on it doesn't respond and just goes crazy! and I mean crazy. I can't do anything on it. Its like it has one finger on it and then when I push it then theres two so then it doesn't respond. This is my FOURTH Incredible. Has this happened to any of you? What should I do?

We apologize about the issues you are having with your device. For the problems you are describing, a factory reset may be needed.

Try doing a soft reset first by powering the device off and removing and replacing the battery, then dialing *228 send and option 1.

MasterReset: Allows user to reset device back to factory settings.

Resetting the phone deletes all data, including downloaded applications, and resets the phone back to its initial state—the state before you turned on the phone for the first time.
Important: Make sure to back up important data you have on the phone before you reset your device.

Note:If device is non-responsive, try a soft reset first by removing battery and power on device.
From the home screen, touch Menu
Touch Settings
Touch SD & phone storage
Touch Factory data reset
Tap Reset phone or Reset phone & internal storage
Tap Erase everything

Touch Menu
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory data reset
On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone
Tap Erase everything.
Note:Reset may take anywhere from 1 - 10 minutes for reset and restart depending on amount of data on device.

I just got it about 4 days ago. I haven't downloaded anything. I have done the battery pull and still does it. I went to the store and they are sending me yet another Droid Incredible. Awesome.

I had kind of the same problem for the first month I had the Incredible - mine just sometimes would not answer the phone. I did the factory reset as suggested by Noah & have had no further problems - hope it works for you.
