I am a Volunteer firefighter and just started getting alarms as text messages. the PROBLEM is.. the messages cut off after 60 characters.. My Question is...is there a way to extend the number of characters accepted or a way of having the rest of the text roll into another text?
Thanks
Bill
Hi kb2sin, I know how important these alerts can be so I would like to help resolve this issue. A standard text message is 160 characters. Just to clarify, are your messages stopping at 60 characters or 160? Standard text messages from email or web are limited to 160 characters. If you have a way of changing how the department sends the message to your phone, have them send it to yourmobilenumber@vzwpix.com. This will change the message to a picture message and will allow you to receive longer messages.
Let me know if that helps!
