Say I just get the the basic plan. But with unlimited texts. How much will the over all monthly bill be?-Thanks.
450 minutes and just a single person plan.
Does the unlimited messaging for the data plan, include Picture messages?
Thank you. You have been alot off help.
Ok - I'll jump in this thread. What will it be for a family share plan? I have the 700 minutes, I believe, might be 1400. We have 250 text (and will this change with a data plan?) What items are considered/counted against a 250 limit (if that remains unchanged) SMS, MMS, email, yahoo IM? If I open up my yahoo email and send an em to someone, does that count? I saw something about "tether" - what is that and why does it cost more? Intend to use this DROID to manage my calendar, which currently runs on Outlook 2000. If that doesn't work, can you sync it with a Google calendar somehow?
Thanks

Wow lots of questions. The rate plan for voice won't change unless Verizon raises their prices again soon. You will still need a text messaging plan to text that is not included in the data plan but you can get a select plan that includes it. On a family plan it is $30 more or you can keep the same 250 texts for $5 each phone or we do 500 plus unlimited mo to mo for $10 each phone. That includes all text and picture messaging. It used to include IM but now on droid Im's will go through the data instead of text so it won't count against your 250 messages. If you e-mail that also will go through data and not messaging. Tethering costs more because you are pulling more data and more resources than your phones web browsing. The computers web brower pulls a lot more information so that ties up bandwidth on the network and uses a lot of system resources. Basically it is more expensive to provide it therefor it is more expensive to use it. It is possible to do if you hack your phone or use a separate app but the market has removed all tethering apps because with it being so system intensive that is a service that is either supported or not by the network and would need to be charged for. Tethering for Droid is officially coming in Q1 of next year but it will cost 15 bucks extra. You can probably find and download an app somewhere else to do it but I imagine if you are caught with one of those or it is determined that that is what you are or have been doing then you might find your service terminated because one of the agreements of service is that you won't use a 3rd party app for tethering or a hack to get your phone to do that. It is a system thing. You will be able to sync with Outlook calander somehow Probably with exchange server which is supported. If you aren't a business or buying it through your business as a business account you won't be charged extra for it. That is my understanding at this point.
