Droid R2D2 availability

 I just noticed today that the R2D2 version is "temporarily out of stock". This is a bummer because I really wanted this phone. It's limited edition so I feel it won't ever be available again. It did say temporarily but I don't have my hopes up. Is anyone able to clear up whether it's unavailable everywhere or just online? If worst comes to worst, what would be my next viable option? I know people gonna say the Droid 2 Global but from heard about its battery life, I'm not sold on that. Plus price is major issue for me.

I don't suspect that battery life on the d2g is significantly worse than on the d2. The cost issue I completely understand.

I don't have any information on the phone's online availability, but you might try calling some of your local vzw corporate stores to see if they have any in stock.

I checked on the website this morning and the R2D2 is....gone. Last week, it was moved form it's position with the other Droid's to the bottom of the list, under the CPO phones. I called customer service and she said that it was a limited edition and there may be some on hand in stores, but inventory was about exhausted (I'm paraphrasing). I'm kinda glad I got one when I did. It seems like they're running out of them.

Hey I was searching around and I found that if you go to Amazon Wireless you can get the Droid R2D2 via Verizon even if you're an existing customer... good news for me 'cause now I can Finally get my Droid!
