I've been experiencing a slow network connection since Monday morning. Sometimes the connection simply dies. All of this with the 3G icon active. I've tried the following:
1. Pulling the battery out and back in, but no positive results.
2. With the suggestion of Verizon support I dialed *228 (option 2) and that seemed to help temporarily, but the phone goes back to a slow connection. When I try this now, it no longer helps (even temporarily).
3. I eventually took the phone in to a store. They replaced the phone and it seemed to work ok at first, but now I'm back to having the same issues.
I live and work in San Francisco where Verizon is suppose to have great 3G coverage. However, I'm not feeling it these days.
Anyone have any suggestions before I take this phone back to the store and see what else they can do? Thanks in advance.

there are too many verizon users in san fran. they are sucking up all the data available and leaving none for you.
are other verizon users you might know experiencing the same within your realm?

That's what I initially thought. However, I actually don't know anyone with a Verizon smarthphone here in the bay area - most people I know have iPhones, so I can't check this. And any search I've done about Verizon network issues here in SF turns nothing.
It's a shame because I really this phone.

It might not be Verizon. I've been experiencing bad speeds as of late after the 2.1 update, and I've seen a couple people online complaining of the same thing.

It may not be the network. I got my incredible late on the 29th at the store. Very impressive feature set.
But anyway, signal strength on the phone is low. In my house its reading -104 dBm with 1 bar and no 3G.
I am in a coverage map area that is considered best for voice and 3G.
Anyway, drove around various areas in the DFW metroplex. A strong signal was momentary (it tended to run low 1 to 2 bars) and 3G is random and short duration (< 1min) and usually only seconds.
Did anyone have any tech support feedback yet. I know its still in the fact finding. HTC forum has a similar post going for the incredible signal strength and 3G issues.
