Droid X Camera Button Issue.

I got my Droid X yesterday, and I love it, but realize quickly that I was not able to take pictures.  After playing with it for several hours i realize i had to put in the camera button really hard and using my nail to get it to finally snap a shot.  I brought it to the store today and they diagnosed it as a faulty button.  They are sending me a replacement.  I find this to be a very strange problem. Has anyonelse been shipped an X with this problem?

There have been a bunch of complaints about that button ....  Mine doesn't arrive until around 9/6 so I won't know for certain what this issue is until then.

However, someone else posted a suggestion for a great APP that eliminates that button altogether...  It's called VIGNETTE .. using that APP, all you do is tap the screen to take the picture - oh, and it has many other features as well for the camera.

Thanks.  Im getting my replacement on monday.  Also, I do not recommend the anti-glare screen protector.  It makes everything looks distorted.  It almost looks like there is a layer of sweat on the screen you cant get off.  The phone does include a wall charger with a very short usb cable.  The HD Dock comes with a wall charger with a much longer usb cable.  So if your getting the dock you wont need to buy another wall charger unit w/ long usb cable.

Interesting about the Screen Protector thing. I used them on my DARE for nearly 2 years and they have SAVED my screen from scratches.  I ordered a 3 pack with my phone ...yet to arrive though.

Anyone else having issues with the Screen Protectors?

Someone else had an issue with the camera button I remember on this forum. I know it was a Droid. His/her button completely fell off. Verizon didn't want to replace it, but in the end Motorola landed up replacing it for no charge or fixing it for no charge.

I'm using an anti-glare protector and have no problem with it at all. Clean the fingerprints at least once a day. Are you sure you removed the second protector layer. The thing comes like a sandwich. You remove the lower piece, set the protector on your phone and with something soft and with a straight edge, swipe around removing any and all air bubbles. Once the protector is well seated on the screen, you remove the top layer...and voila, your screen is protected.

I'm sure. the protectors give a grainy quality most noticeable when viewing pictures.

Sorry to hear about the button. I have not seen to many problems like yours on the button. The biggest problem I hear about is the delay (which is usually due to focusing time lag). And there was the one post about the button falling off as stated above.

For those who are interested in the app Vignette for just the ability to touch the screen to take the picture, Froyo will do that when it is released. But, Vignette is a very cool program. There is a free (demo) version and a paid version (I paid around 4.50 US)

As far as the screen protector, I use one and do not see a problem with it. But, it probably is not really needed with this glass.
