Droid X: Contacts: Adding Extensions to Phone Numbers

Does anyone know how to Add extensions to phone numbers?  Blackberry was able to autodial extensions after the number was dialed...HELP

Just add in a few pauses and then the extension #. That is also how I dial my voicemail with the password automatically.

Thanks for the idea of using this to get the password in. Gets rid of one of lifes little irritations.
