Droid X Email Issue (when forwarding)

When I receive an email, the time reflects the real time it was sent.  If I forward the email, the time in the email changes to GMT and I live in CMT.  My settings are for central time and all my emails I send reflect the correct time, even the forward email is set correctly, but the time on the original email changes to GMT.  It happens on both my corporate account and my personal Comcast account, so I figure it must be a setting I am overlooking.  Any thoughts?

Have you received the last software update?  This is the latest version, Version.1.13.604.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP: BP_C01.09.04P.  It was released on 7-20 and is being rolled out in stages.  This update was a fix for the incorrect time sync.  You can check for the latest software by going through the steps below.  Hope this helps!

From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone

I am having the same problem when forwarding or replying to email.  I am in GMT - 8 (pacific time) and when i forward emails, the forwarded email shows GMT +0..   My timezone is correctly entered in my email systems (exchange, yahoo, gmail). and on my phone (which is set to automatic (use network provided values).. I have also tried to manual enter the timezone..  in both cases, forwarded emails indicate a GMT of +0 (which is ahead of my real time)

I have:

Android Version 2.3.3

System Version 4.5.602.MB810. Verizon.en.US

which appear to be the latest versions

Can you help me fix this.

thanks

thanks for the help..  I have been trying for a few days to check for system updates but I get the message:

"check of update is not available at this time.  Try again later"

this has been occuring for the last several days..

do you know if there is another way to get the update?

or whether there is something I can to check for updates from my phone as I usually do?

thank you

try turning the X off, wait a couple of minutes, then turn it back on again.

If that doesn't work, then wait a few more days and try again... and try in a different location or try Wifi if you can get WiFi somewhere

thank you.. I had to use the WiFi hint  to get the X to check for updates..  I sucessfully downloaded the update..thank you very much.

Unfortunately, that has not resolved my problem with the time stamps on forwarded emails.. still in the future... showing GMT +0.0

a puzzle.. thanks for trying to help.

Where are you seeing the time change? I sent an email to my phone, then forwarded it to another of my accounts, and I have the correct time everywhere I look?

I know that your phone has restarted when it installed the update, but you might want to try to shut the phone off for a minute, then turn it back on again.

If you go to your Date & Time Settings (Settings->Date & Time) what is it set at?

Mine is set to Network-Provided values, which sets everything date/time zone/time

I think not a "time change" per se - it seems like the Android native mail software wants to show the timestamp of "forwarded" or "replied" to  mail in GMT 0.0 time (london).. I am in GMT -8 (California)...

below is a sample email stream.   The timestamp is in GMT in 2nd email header..  It was y 9:37 AM when I received it (California, GMT -8) but in on my Droid X it is changed to 16:37 = 4:37 PM  .  .makes it confusing for folks that read my emails.  sometimes it will be the next day (london time  would be the next day)

when at my desktop, this conversion to GMT 0.0 does not occur.  it only happens on my droid.

my time settings are correct and I have tried both Network provided values and  manual time .  Both result in the same issue when I reply to or forward mail from my droid X...  (and no matter what I am using ..gmail, exhange or yahoo)

As the king of Siam said "Tis a Puzzlement"

thanks for trying
