I have tried to go to Menu and settings and find a way to have my gmail emails deleted from the gmail servers after I delete them on my phone.

Can anyone point me to the direction of an existing solution or can advise?

Thanks

Are you deleting the gmail emails through the gmail app or something else?

Emails deleted with the gmail app should also delete them from the gmail server. At very least they will go to a trash folder that gets emptied out every so often.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Any emails deleting from the built in Gmail application should also delete from your Gmail server by default, there are no settings you need to change this. I would suggest refreshing your Gmail account or logging out and back in to see if the emails have deleted.

I have tried to use the built in gmail app on the phone and deleted an email. Then went online on the computer and the email doesn't even show as being read.?

Is this your only Gmail account?  If it is not – try deleting it and reading it.  Please repost if that does not work.  Thank you.

Yes it is my Gmail account. What i found I need to do to ensure that when I delete the emails from my phone they delete from the server is to, on the Droid X:

1) My Accounts, find gmail account and select it.

2) check the box 'sync gmail'

Then it clears the server.

Do you have your email set up as PoP or Fetch? You may have to go into your gmail settings on the web and adjust the settings to make it work back and forth.
