Droid X IMAP email issues

I set up my email in the Droid X with the proper IMAP settings.  Most of it works, however the following IMAP functionality is not working:

  1. When I delete an email from my Droid X, it does not delete the message from the email server.
  2. The sent messages are not being stored in my Sent folder on my Droid X, nor are the sent emails getting synced through IMAP with my email server.

IMAP is a wonderful technology that saves double work.  Nothing worse than having to delete your emails a second time in Outlook, after reading and deleting them from the Droid X.

I'm using Rackspace email.  The technician tested my email account using the original Droid and everything tested fine.  They do not have a Droid X to test with, but it seems that this is somehow a Droid X issue.

Is anyone else having this issue?  More importantly...has anyone figured out how to resolve these IMAP issues?

I am having a very similar issue with my email.  I am getting an "Invalid Server Certificate" message.  I have been unable to send any emails from my mindspring (Earthlink) email account since I activated my Droid X last Fridat.  The messages are all sitting in the Outbox and it keeps attempting to re-send them.

I am having problems with my cox.net email also, I have talked to both cox and verizon neither seem to know how to fix it... Verizon is saying it is an issue for google, and don't have any idea how long it will take to fix as they can only communicate with google by email.

I am experiencing the same problem. I can receive emails but I can not send outgoing emials on the earthlink account. G-Mail works fine. I have double checked the settings, went to a Verizon retail store, called Earthlink, but the issue has not been resolved. What is the solution?

I have had the same problem since the first day I got the Droid X (I got it on launch day). I have called Verizon several times and have ended up creating a case with Motorola. They were complete **bleep** and of no help. Their number is 800-734-5870 if you want to try. I simply gave up because I don't have time to fight this problem anymore and attempted to move on. I have used MailDroid Pro for the most part even though right now that isn't working anymore either. I am probably going to just wait until I am due to get the iPhone and just replace this phone. Very disappointing. Otherwise, I think the phone has been great!

Let me know if anyone gets through to Motorola to get this corrected.
