I had purchased a Duracell MyGrid which uses a magnet on the back of the Droid X device to connect the power device. I have since stopped using it and detached the magnet from the phone in order to use a Motorola dock instead. When I place the device in the dock it does nothing. It doesn't charge, doesn't change layout, nothing. What should I do?

First, I hope that you didn't mess up your Droid using a magnet. Now, for your immediate problem. Question: is your Droid in a shell cover/holder? If it is, you must remove the shell in order for the Droid to fit into the dock. It should work then. It's a pain taking off and putting back on the shell, but that is the only way the phone will fit into the dock.

Get into the settings of your phone then go into applications. Click on manage applications and at the top choose all. Allow it a moment to display all your apps and then scroll down til you see desk home. Click on that program and then clear data, clear default, clear cache.

I gave that a shot but it didn't do anything. I have continued using the MyGrid for now and it switches over to the Multimedia Dock mode and I have tried getting it to switch over using other magnets and it's worked. It just won't work when I plug it into the dock, it doesn't recognize the charge or the magnet.

...also, I do not use a cover or anything on my phone.
