Droid X Problems/Customer Service

I would first like to say that I have been a Verizon customer for a long time and every since my husband got the Droid X 2 months ago it has been a nightmare!!!!! We are going to receive the 4th replacement phone in 2 months tomorrow.  All of the phones that he has received are doing the same thing either 1. they come up with a message saying mutlimedia station connection and shut off  OR 2. the phone will just shut down in the middle of a conversation with no warning.  I talked to my husband for about 10 minutes today and the phone cut off 5 times....I have spoke with CS,tech support, corporate office.  I even asked the lady at corporate office if I could speak with the guy that is over GA and she told me NO that executives don't speak to customers!!!! WHAT?????? Verizon has the worst customer service ever and when my contract is up I WILL be switching providers.  I guess we will try the 4th Droid X when it comes in the mail tomorrow however, I don't have high hopes as all of the other phones have done the same thing.  Obviously I am not the only person with this problem...I think Verizon needs to work on their CS skills.  All that I asked for was a different phone that is compatible with the Droid X which is what I PAYED for.  They told me that I could get any phone except the Iphone or the Thunderbolt...WTH these phones are the ones that are up there with the Droid X.  My husband would like the bigger screen, however, I feel hopeless with going through anyone at VW because it seems no one really cares, BUT if it was there phone I bet they would care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Just wanted to say that Verizon will not switch out a DX for an iPhone or Thunderbolt... Those phones are not "comparible" to the X, as they are much newer. If anything, you would get something like the Incredible or DX2. It sounds like you just want an excuse to get either the iPhone or the Thunderbolt.

I'd bet the guy that is "over GA" has better things to do. There are systems in place to troubleshoot your phone issues. Either at a Verizon Store, via telephone, or online. No one here can attempt to help you unless you provide more details and LET someone help you. All Droid X's are not this problematic. If they were, they would have been pulled from the market. They are approaching one year on the market and still one of the top phones available.

+1    .... if you're on your 4th, there is 1 common denominator in all this.   Smiley Happy

These SMARTPHONES are COMPUTERS. Not saying that there aren't the bad lots of them, but 4 replacements?  I would seriously start "clean" on the 4th one. Don't install ANY 3rd party APPS for a few days - just see if it stablizes.  You can make calls, check your email, etc.   In fact, you're probably getting a CPO  .... so a FACTORY RESET is probably the best thing to do right away -- but make sure you have the "auto restore" option in SETTINGS turned OFF so as to not reinstall any rogue APP that may be causing your issue. (which is what I think you have going on.)

We're all here to help each other. Rather than RANT, maybe generate 1 specific thread at a time with a specific issue you're having. If you're p****d at VZN though and just want out, well, not much help from us then. Sorry.

I have to agree that a Swap from Droid X to Iphone or Thunderbolt just ain't gonna happen.  The fact that you even mention these as alternatives pretty much makes all your arguments null-in-void.

This is my rule of thumb, if you are having same issue accross several devices the issue usually isnt the device, there is very little chance that multiple devices would malfunction the same way unless there is another common factor.  Check battery, charger or even SD Card because your issue is related to something other than device.

I have to agree. With the hundreds of thousands or more of droid x's out there, and the many different problems people report having, what are the odds you would get 4 phones with the exact same problems? I would guess it's one of three possibilities. The battery, the SD card, or an app. Good luck,

this.

Run the phone with no added apps, take the sd card out, and see how well the phone runs for a few days

For the most part it doesn't matter who you talk to, it is how you talk to them.
