Droid X Texting Problems

So, I have the Droid X and for some reason the past week or two I've been having problems with people not receiving my text messages. It's not everyone though. It's a few people and they're all from different carriers. Some from verizon. Some from tmobile. Some from at&t.

I called verizon TWICE and went in to the store once.

The first time I called verizon she updated my software and had me shut off my phone, take out the battery, leave it out for a minute, replace the battery, then call *228 when my phone turned back on. That didn't work.

The second time I called the girl told me to try doing the same thing with my boyfriends phone because there is nothing wrong with my phone. I did and nothing happened. It still didn't work.

Then, when I went in to the store the lady looked at me like crazy, told me she couldnt help me because it was nothing wrong with my phone and didnt even attempt to help me.

I read some forums and they said they were trying to come up with a update that will fix the problem. But, they have no clue when it's going to be done and released.

Does anybody have any other ideas that may help me? Or is anybody having the same problems?

So I take that the app is showing that the files are being sent or is it showing message wasnt sent when you check the message thread on your device?

I know if my text messaging was not working properly, I would be frustrated, as that is the main use of my phone. So I can totally relate to your concern! You mentioned this just started within the past couple weeks. Have you recently switched devices or done any software updates? (Do you know the current software version?) Do you get the confirmation that the text message was sent, or do you get an error message? Do you know if you are receiving all of your text messages? Another thing we can do is a Manual Programming, which will make sure all the correct information/ numbers are programmed into your phone; however, we will need to speak with you to do this.

Steps to view software version:

*View Information under Baseband Version & System Version

From the main screen, touch Menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone

While we're discussing Droid texting issues, is anyone having this problem???

Ever since loading the latest Droid OS 2.3.3 to my DroidX My texting has been posting dual message threads;

What I mean is that when I text a friend, it posts a message window with the text I sent, and when the friend responds, theirs opens a new message thread window, so I can't see the response to my message; I have to back out of my side and open their thread window to see the response, and then when I respond back, it post my outbound message in my own thread.

The odd part is that is does not do this with every message and sometimes will do it with one, while not another , while I'm running several conversations at once.

Very frustrating to have to switch back and forth between message windows to carry on a conversation with a single person.

What TXT App are you using? You might wish to consider a 3rd party one like Handcent ... the native/stock APP isn't all that great.
