I used DVDFab 8 to convert DVD's to MP4's....I also moved files from my iTUNES library over and converted them for my Droid X. There's a youtube video on how to use the software. Just search youtube for DVDFab 8 to get the tutorial. I also downloaded a free market app called doubleTwist to use as a player on my X. It looks similar to iTUNES, so it has a familiar feel to it if you like using iTUNES. You have to load doubleTwist onto both your X and your home PC/laptop. Then you just connect your X to the PC and drag the movies or music from the library to your X. Hope this helps!!

Why do you convert the files because the files should already be MP4? I have placed my Mp4 on ipod and also copied movies straight from library to other devices, I never refiltered. DVDFab is a rather expensive solution, there is a number of apps that can do it as well, when I do need to filter images I use FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter from http://www.aone-soft.com/flv_to_avi_mpeg_wmv_3gp_mp4_ipod_converter.htm. this can convert all formats listed to another format without issues.

I perfer Meridian Player. Its only 2.99 compared to the 9.99 for Rock Player.. Plus it has more feature amd works as more than just a video player and it has a number of widgets included with app.
Check it out at http://www.androidtapp.com/meridian-player/
and let me know what you think... It is a universal player for music, videos and play list. check out video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs14gKe2TrI but keep in mind the software has been updated since this videos.
And as for itune placing DRM on files I cant say for sure but if so this may be a bump in playing them on another non iTune device but what I can say I have moved video files off itunes and played them on my WM devices in the past but those files could have been ones I added and didnt download from the iStore.

I did a quick bing search this morning, and it looks like iTumes does have DRM on their TV shows and movies. You will need software to remove the DRM before Droid X can play them.
