I wouldn't even believe writing either... I have received many **bleep** email replies from VZW. Its just Verizon employees who are not properly trained for their positions

By the way, it was Motorola that pushed the "test update"... not Verizon. The update wasn't intended to even be publicized.. it was intended for a select few to test. Verizon has already updated the droid x software support page, just like they did prior to the 2.2 release. This is why Verizon doesn't know anything about the X update. Once again, poor communication between VZW-Motorola and their customers.

Once again a customer being misinformed, if it was only for the Droid no one would be getting the download and mine and many other have update installed and rolling, so I wouldn't listen to that answer.

Or misunderstood. The release was for all Droid 2 phones and only for certain members of the Moto test forum for the X. But, was (accidently?) sent out to others. So the Rep might of meant that it was, for now, only for the droid 2 and should of also said the x update would follow shortly.

As a side note to some of my comments on problems being reported by some who had the update and this is why it was pulled.

Some of the problems might of been unrelated to the update (3G problems on Verizons side vs. update causing). so my guess is that it was pulled strictly due to the fact that it was only suppossed to go out to some who were to report back with any problems and they realised the mistake and pulled it back until Moto plans on releasing it to all. As far as to when that is, I have heard a day, a couple days, a week or two. so who knows. but, I am sure they will wiat til all bugs that may be reported are confirmed and fixed. As far as I can tell not a huge difference with this update. But, I will say that I never had any of the reported problems from  the Froyo update that are said to be fixed in this update. and Madden NFL is just a demo so who cares.

Well I noticed a positive responce after installing update, I have gone 12 hours with no data disconnecting issues, restart time is nice and the dialer update features are also useful.... Nothing to complain about for me..

No issues here, either. Yeah, I noticed the dialer features later on in the morning. I guess we squeaked in under the radar on this one, LOL.

I just hope that when they release the update again (!!), it doesn't cause you and me problems. I don't know why it would, but ya just never know...

And I just got home and tried to update my new Droid X. No go, no way, no how. Not yet, anyway.
