I realize that the Droid X is not a Windows OS phone, but can it sync to Outlook (calendar, contacts, and tasks) without any issues or third party software? Do you know if I would be satisfied with this phone compared to the Omnia 2 I have now? Thanks folks!

if you like the omnia 2, I recommend waiting for the galaxy S/fascinate. otherwise, wait until the droid x comes out and use it before buying one.

The question was can it sync Outlook. You can have Outlook without using an Exchange server. Most people have outlook on their home PC's but they are not connecting it to an Exchange server.

I have been researching this issue, and it looks like MyLink might meet my requirements for syncing to Outlook from an Android phone. It is not free, but it seems to be reasonably priced at around $15.00 (you have to go to the order form for USD pricing)
I do not have a Droid phone at this time, and looking to get the Droid X when it comes out in 2 weeks. I am looking at replacing my pocket pc and my Zune with the Droid X, so syncing to Outlook is a priority.
Hope this helps
ps - One of my requirements is NOT SYNCING to the Google Cloud.....
