Hello,

I would like to know if I can plug the charger for drod x directly into an electrical outlet overseas (i.e south america) without it getting damaged? If so, do I need to take a power surge plug with me to utilize as well. Thanks in advance

Check the charger.  The one I have here at work says:

100-240V~ / 50-60 Hz

If yours also says that, it will work fine.  You may need a plug adapter to change the US style plug (NEMA 5-15) to whatever is used in the particular countries you'll be visiting.  Looks like South America is quite the mishmash of voltages/frequencies/plug types.

The charger I have at home (the type the USB cable plugs into) is marked the same.  You should be good to go with only a plug adapter.
