Hi...new to the forums but planning on getting a Droid X. I was thinking about buying it at AW for $19 (this one, specifically)
Is this the best deal, or can I do better elsewhere?
Thanks!

That look a little suspicious, also did you notice it says on back-order? Be careful with a deal that looks to goof to be true..

I would bet that is a phishing site. I can't recreate it directly from Amazon.com. Be careful you might be in for some identity problems. These guys can make their sites look awful much like the real thing.

Y'all are paranoid. The site is legit; goo.gl is Google's own link shortener (like tinyurl, etc). AW = Amazon Wireless.
To the OP: yeah, $19 is a solid deal. I paid $149 for mine when I upgraded!

I got my Droid X for $9.99 from the Dell mobility website, which goes through an Authorized Verizon Reseller....I've had problems out of the box with touch screen response, text messages not wanting to send unless I reboot the phone, app icons disappearing and other little problems. I fixed the touch screen response problem a little by removing the screen protector, but I still have issues with it not wanting to respond. Yeah its a reseller phone, but I know 6 other people who all have a Droid X and they have not had any problems with it, bought from the corparate stores who have no problems whatsoever
I'm actually now trying to get Verizon to replace the phone, with a refurbished one, but they are being jerks about it by wanting to troubleshoot over the phone before they will send a replacement, even though I have troubleshot in the store and from suggestions on this very forum, as well as 3rd party Droid X support forums. I actually was treated like an idiot when i called them this morning
While a cheap deal is a great thing, I actually can't help but wonder if I got someone elses problem, since the phone came with a 'temporary' number which initially Verizon charged me for and told me I had a multi-phone plan on my account. I got credits for charges on that temporary # that occurred while the phone was in the cargo hold of a FedEx plan while the phone was in transit to me. I probably won't go through a 'cheap' site again like that considering the problems I have had on this.

Droid X for $19 is an excellent price!
If you're buying it through Amazon.com, and have a dispute they can reverse charges and you will get your money back.

You get what you pay for....
I find it very hard to believe that a $600 item can be sold for only $19.
I got my X from an "Authorized Verizon Retailer" and not a "Corporate" store, and I've not had all the excellent experiences others have had. Are the phones different at an "authorized" retailer than at a "corporate" store? I don't know, but I can't help but wonder if I would have had a phone without problems as others here have.

That is exactly what I was saying.

I see the $19 price is only for new Verizon customers. For all others the price is higher.

Uh oh, some people are going to be pretty mad that Amazon treats new Verizon customers better than loyal ones. If memory serves me correctly, I believe that Family Plan prices are higher than individual plan customers. Could be wrong, though.

I got my DX from Dell for free, 2 phones free shipping. They say free activation but I just looked at my 1st bill and there were charges for both phones, but they say I get credits next month.
To answer your question $19 is good but there are better. Yes my phones were new.
