I am on my second Droid X. After a few minutes, the hot spot quits working. My iPad and new computer both drop the connection at the same time. It also didn't work at the Verizon store, working with their iPad (which prompted them to replace it with the second one which doesn't work). No one seemed to know there was a problem with this feature at Verizon or on Motorola live chat support. Now I am seeing other people all over the internet reporting the problem. I am a few days away from being able to get out of my Verizon contract cancelled, which, of course, I will do if I can't solve this.

I have been having this issue from time to time and I really think the issue is on Verizons end with there data connections, I notice this issue after the complaint was reported that since the Droid X realease Verizons data usuage almost tripled, Im starting to think that the internet connection is being restricted to bring down data usage. I am actually starting to get irritated with restarting device or cycling Plane mode to get data connection to function, since you are running into the same issue at the same time on all your devices this ,akes it clear its network related and has nothing to do with device.

I have listed some information below that may help with the Hotspot issue you are experiencing.

Step. 4 - Try relocating the device. (Something in the immediate location could be affecting the service received, or low signal)
Step. 5 - Soft reset (power off the device, pull the battery out for 20 seconds and place it back in)
