Droid X is SLOW

I bought a Droid X the night it was released. For the first few weeks the phone worked great. However, lately the phone has been EXTREMELY SLOW. It's mainly the text messages that load really slowly. It takes about ten seconds to load the text message module, then another ten seconds to load the specific contact's message history, and when I reply (I am typing on the virtual keyboard) it lags horribly.

Any idea how I can fix this? It's horrible.

Sounds like you need a good task killer. When ever I notice my phone slowing down, I pop up my task killer and notice I have about 3 pages of crap running. After a kill all, my phone is fast and zippy again.

Also consider deleting older text messages you no longer use. I had a txt convo that was about 40 pages long and it took about 2-3 seconds to load, after deleting a bunch of it I noticed a little faster loading.

I figured the text messages had something to do with it. Thanks for the suggestion, I think it may have helped. I just wish there was a program you could download to archive your text messages.

Why, this is yer lucky day.

Go to the market and look for SMS Back-up. Works great.

I just thank my lucky stars that my phone doesn't need a task killer.
