Droid X out of memory on 16 GB card due to music files

I am syncing my iTunes music to my Droid X using Doubletwist and I am already out of space on my 16 GB card, can't get all my music on my X.  On my old iPhnone the audio files only take up 3.6 GB space.

What am I doing wrong? What can I do to get all my music files on my Droid X?

Please help!

what else is on your SD Card?  If you connect it via USB, take a look at the files on the card (using your PC) ...

I actually have more pictures along with my music on my old iPhone and out of 14.46 GB space I have only used a little over 4 GB.  The iPhone music files are only taking up 3.6 GB and the pictures .2 GB.  Why are virtally the same music and photo files taking up most all of my DroidX 16 GB?

Strange ..   Are you mounting the card in yor PC and seeing this?  Is it REALLY a 16GB Card??  How long have you had this phone?

There could be a possible issue with the X or maybee the Sd card you could try if you want too!  go an Unmount the Card then Re-Format it but all thing that were on it will lost an when you mentioned the iphone.  Since it's a complete different phone an the filing system is set up some what different to your X that may be the reason you can load it up with the music files with no problem on your iphone... to wear you can't on the X.

An are these files coming from your old iphone to the Droid X that's were you may be running into Trouble possibly

I there a better app for transferring music from my iTunes library on my computer to the X?  I thought Doubletwist was suppose to be a good one.

You are not taking in concidera that the sd card is used to store large apps data..  I am sure this is the nature of the confusion..

Also did you by a 16 gig card because the device does not ship with a 16 any more, I think they whent to a 8 or 4 gb with new devices now, how long have you had the device and did you verify the card size or just assumed it was a 16gigs card?

Actually Sir the latestest X's were shipped with 2 Gig Cards.  An with all the Bolognie > :smileyvery-happy: i have on mine Just kidding I still have 6.2 Gb of Internal an 10.35GB avalable space an a Total space of 14.93GB on the Sd Card.  So i'd say Birtha is still runnen smoothly with all of that on Board. Had the phone a little over a year.  I am seeing the capacity using the USB to my computer.  I took the card out, is says 16 GB on it. There are a few apps on the card but not all of them.  The internal memory show 6 GB free.  Strange it seems to already be full.

Any other suggestions?

One thing you need to remember even though it's a 16Gb Card there is some space that is used when you format the Card or even your first intial use there is some space used by the phone an this has happen all the way back when Sd cards were first pute into use on our earlier phones an Cameras that came out.

On your songs there are going to be different Bit Rates an Lengths an do to this is what might of caused it to load up fast than what you expected.  An some thing els as a Reminder Taking pictures uses space on the Sd card as Well. So does Getting ringtones an Wallpapers an if you have any of your Apps on the Sd it will consume space.  So check all these area's to see what you've got an then go from there.  If this helps ya in any way drop a post an let me Know or just click on the << Kudo at the Lefthand side  :smileyhappy:  << An have a Happy Thanksgiven
