Droid X powers on after shut off

My Droid X powers on after shut off - this did not happen until after the download of the new operating system - is there a fix?

May want to search the forum because this was a ongoing issue back with 2.2 Froyo update, havent really heard anyone having this issue since that update..

Actually (@Wildman) this started immediately after the release of GB (SOAK test) in May.  Presumeably with the code they added for "SLEEP MODE".  There is a long-running thread on this 'feature' at the MOTO forum.  Crickets from MOTO though.

Hello Gourmet,

 

I know it can be annoying to have your device power on after powering it off.   I would like to advise you that Motorola is aware of this opportunity with the device, and are working on a resolution as soon as possible.  I don't have an expected date as of now, but I can say this fix will most likely come in a form of a software update.  I appreciate your patience.  Thank you.

This problem just arose with my phone the other day when I reluctantly had to do a factory reset since my browser kept crashing everytime I tried to use it. I noticed after another problem arose and I went to turn the phone off to try and reset it that when it powered off, it immediately went to the red M start up screen without me doing anything. This is why I hate doing factory resets. It fixes one problem but creates numerous other problems......if Moto and VZW would get off their butts and actually fix things, then we as users may actually be able to use the phone the way it was intended to be used, instead of fighting with one problem after another

:smileysurprised: Wow it's been that long alott has went under this old man's Bridge just funnen with ya Cody.  My X done the little gremlin thing the other day. And it likes to do it in my Incredible as well just this morning par say. I've gotten use to it so much it's like changing under ware!  :smileywink:
