I have a problem with my droid x and I'm not sure if its a app problem or a software update maybe someone can help me with it?
first my problems are my phone turning on by its self and my other problem is that my phone keeps freezing up on my just by unlocking it and trying to open a text more some times i have to take my battery out to do anything at all. can some one help me please?
Is the phone turning itself on shortly after you shut it off, or at other times. If it's when you just turn it off, that is a known problem since GB was released. It has been well documented in this forum. If, however, it turns itself on at other times, that usually is apps related. As for the freezing, that is apps related. If this happened shortly after you downloaded and installed new apps, try deleting them and see what happens.
im the op my account didn't get sent a activation email.
any ways it just did it late lastnight i turned it off but not 1 sec later it cameback on.
as for the freezing i have only downloaded apps an it was before the freezing has started.
As Mortb pointied out - the Auto-Power up after shutdown is a well known bug attributed to GB. (do a search and you'll find several long threads on the issue).
As far as the other issue, try booting into SAFE MODE and see if the problem persists.
- Power OFF phone
- Press & HOLD the MENU button
- Power up phone, but continue to HOLD the Menu button for like 1-2 mins.
It will eventually boot up and say SAFE MODE in lower left corner. TEST to see if the problem goes away. If it DOES, you have a faulty APP that is causing your issue ... Time to start UNINSTALLING the latest APP(s) until your problem goes away.
To get out of SAFE MODE, just power off on as usual.
