I recently bought the Droid X and have unlimited data/messaging.
I was wondering if anyone knew why my phone refuses to send text messages to certain contacts. I have two people, both with Tmobile that have messaging but for some reason the messages will not send, from my phone.
I receive theirs but cannot respond.

Do you have more than one account and have you verified the default account is setup to a account that the server allow outgoig emails because some restrict outgoing or required a specific outgoing server..
There shouldn't be any restrictions to send to curtain email accounts, the email should always send if email is setup correct and if something causes it not to be received then you will receive a notice that email is unreceivable but this would be something on the receivers end not yours.
If email wont send from your device I would check you outgoing server settings.
Ummm, Wildman, I am not sure, but I think the OP is asking about TEXT MESSAGES and not emails.

If it's your phone not letting you send the texts, you may have it set to only show mobile numbers for texting, and you may have their number saved not as a mobile number. You can change this in the settings menu of the messaging app or edit your contacts to save their number as mobile. But that's just a guess.
I have noticed with other phones that a 1 in front of the area code throws the txt messaging off.
