Droid X shippment?

I ordered my droid x from a verizon store on Aug 11th. I was wondering when to expect it to arrive? The site said Aug 26th but will it really ship then, the shipping date has been pushed back a lot.

If they had sufficient stock in inventory, you would normally receive it by FedEx 2nd Day...if you choose the free shipping option.  However, Droid X's have sold so quickly that most stores, and the Verizon warehouse, are out of stock.  Verizon is currently expecting a shipment of more Droid X's very soon, and shipments have been pushed back until the end of August.  I placed my order on Aug. 12th....with the website saying that it would be shipped by Aug. 30th. 

It's important to note that this does NOT mean that they will wait until the end of the month before they ship it.  Look at that date as...."we will ship it by this date at the latest."   If Verizon happens to receive a large shipment from Motorola within the next week or so, they will begin to ship phones to those who have pre-ordered.  As long as they have enough supply, most people should get theirs.   I'm ok with waiting until Aug. 30th, but I'm hoping I see it sooner.

The above information was provided to me by a Verizon Customer Service representative who was extremely nice and seemed really knowledeable and honest.  That's a nice change from talking to someone else who didn't know as much, and simply responded with something along the lines of "Ummmm....you'll get it very soon.  Within several days."

If you ordered your Droid X on the 11th, then you and I are probably in the same boat, and can expect to see our phones by the end of August or very early September at the latest....depending on how fast Verizon receives their shipments from Motorola.  Also keep in mind that Verizon may be shipping phones to those who have pre-ordered before WE did, and must ship theirs first.

I ordered August 6th and it says ships by August 24th but Verizon wont tell me anything yet.

If they aren't telling you anything, it's because they do not know. 

Be patient.  I know it's hard ... believe me!  I had to wait for mine, too.  But you won't get it any faster by calling them.  They will only tell you the same thing:  you will get an e-mail telling you it's shipped with the FedEx tracking number.

you won't get it faster either by complaining!   All people need is patience.

I ordered the 4th with a ship date of the 19th.  I got my ship notice that it will be in my hands on the 16th.  There is hope for a little sooner.

Finally, mine shipped today from my order on the 5th placed at 2:30 PST. I have been checking every droid forum out there trying to get good information on the wait time. I am in AZ (Phx) and received my notification at 1:45pm on 8/13. Will receive it Tuesday. This has been nerve wracking. BTW - you can't even track the shipment notification numbers to your order. I had to call Verizon to confirm that it was my Droid X and not separate accessories that I ordered. Also, I am a bit POd that they did not ship it overnight like they said they would in writing from an e-mail I initiated and the response received from internetorders@verizonireless.com on 8/9. Mine says it is 2 day service and I will be receiving it Aug 17 by 7pm. This is such a releif and now I can stop hitting the send/receive button in Outlook. I think it's broke anyway.
