I was told the local verizon corporate store would be opening at its regular time which is 8 o'clock even with the anticipation of the arrival of the droid x. I arrived at the store 10min before 8 and was suprised to see that they were already open and the store was packed. when greeted I was asked if i had an "appointment"??? with a rep and I said no. I was lead to the counter were I was told that they were short on the X and that they would order it for me, ship it next day and give me the rebate price. Yet as I stood there I saw people come in after me who had "appointments" and were walking out with The X. NOT RIGHT THOUGHT THERE WERE NO PRE ORDERS? if someone can make an appointment and have a phone set aside for them sounds like a PRE-ORDER to me..
Prior to getting the droid x and before it was released....I had read where a couple users had pre-ordered the Droid X from Verizon. So I suppose it was some what available.
