Droid X will not fetch attachments to Gmail

I switched from a Standard Droid to the new Droid X.  My Gmail works fine but will not allow any attachmetns to be downloaded or previewed on screen.  The Droid X just displays a "fetching attachment" but never does......help???

Also....the gmail on the phone is working ....fine...will forward attachments ..why can I not view or download the attachments?

Are you able to access... the web fine? I am able to download from my account
