Droid opening random apps

My Droid 2 has started opeing random apps, trying to dial random numbers, and hangs up randomly in the middle of calls. I've taken out the battery and restarted, removed the app killer, been to the VZW store for help and nothing is solving this? Next steps...?

You should try a factory reset on your phone.

I just finished doing that and it still randomly opens apps.

Thanks for letting us know your results after a factory reset bwvz! We can determine that you're experiencing a hardware issue (possibly with your touch screen). Do you have a case on the device?
