Droid x connection to Acura 2005 TL

Purchased a Droidx 2 weeks ago and it synced flawlessly with my Bluetooth, that is until yesterday it strted to drop the calls from the cars handfree . Doesn't connect at all now, although the phone says it is still paired, but not connected. The phone symbol in my car that shows the phone is connected is not lite as well as the bluetooth symbol in the phone.  Got in the car this morning and it synced on and off  for the first few minutes and then disappeared completely again.

Just took the battery out of the phone and lets see if that works..but what a drag to have to do this, since I am in my car alot and depend on the handsfree.

Anyone have any suggestions , besides taking the battery out ( hope that works )

Try going into your bluetooth application in your phone, delete the connection from your car to your phone and then repair them. That has fixed bluetooth problems I have had in the past with phones.

Is the vehicle the only device paired with the Droid X?  I have ran into issues if I had more than onev device paired and in range that caused device to scan instead of connecting..  Make sure all devices paired is off except the vehicle, also trying rcschnoor suggestion may help also.

Have you tried pairing with another device to see if it does the same thing, this makes it easier to identify the phone being a issue...  Also keep in mind that this could be a software bug also, have you installed anything recently?

I just called my dealer today with the same problem with an Acadia 2011.  I was told the security setting on my phone was too high.  I was also told to try the battery trick.  The technician said that I may have to go to Verizon and have them program my settings to allow the Bluetooth to remain connected without disconnecting when I exit the car.  Like you, I rely on my Bluetooth extensively and do not want to buy more OnStar minutes (too expensive) when I paid to have this feature on my car!

took my car to the dealer yesterday and after many attempts they were able to pair the phone and they told me everything was fine.( Don' t know why it took so many attempts to pair , I was having the same problem as well. )They turned the car on and off and the bluetooth connected right away. I was skepticle to say the least.

Drove away, car and phone paired..went to work  and 2 hours later got in car and no connection again.

DId notice that the phone icon came on and off intermittenly. The phone did not pair the rest of the day. Got into car this morning to go to work and bingo car paired, as i was driving noticed the connection was going on and off and finally the last 10 minutes of my drive the connection remained.

The technician at Acura has a Droidx and he said it works in his car around 97% of the time

He did say that the HFL module might be failing in my car..it is a $ 721 item to replace and all should know that the new modules have the same software. In orther words, eventhough Acura has updated the software in newer cars, if you replace the HFL for a 2005  it will be the old version.

Couple of notes:

I did try and pair my wife's LG env4( approved Acura phone ) to the car and I could not get it to pair

Did a system clear in the HFL and deleted the car from my phone and took the battery out. Was able to pair on the second attempt, but eventually lost connection. Did the same for wife's phone and could not pair at all ?

A few folks have droidx's in my office ..going to try and pair with car, if that fails, guess I will have to suck it up and pay for the new module. I want to rule out that the problem is not the phone and the car, before I spend the big bucks

Have you checked your power mangement setting because it sounds like you may be running into the disconnecting setting, it has a time setting that will auto disconnect options like data and bluetooth connections.  Try switching to Performance setting that is suppose to disable the power manger and see if the issue corrects itself.
