Droid x music in car

Anyone have luck with using Droid x in car. Car has ipod plug, what if you used ipod plug adapter to ipod plug adapter then plugged in droid with usb end of plug?

iPod plug will not work because there is no compatible connections ro work on the Droid X, from what I read the usb connection worked but once 2.2 update user has reported having no luck... It appears at this time no one has had any luck getting it to work with Froyo 2.2.
