I just received my Droid X and can not get it to keep a connection for 3G Hot Spot. I pay an extra $20 a month for this service. I researched this on the internet and come to find out that this is a regular issue with the Droid X. I am upset Verizon should not be charging for a service they can not provide. Can any one tell me if they are experiencing the same issue?

it works just fine on my phone.... did you go into settings and check to see what you have the wireless network set to? SSID and encryption type/key?
you can set it to anything you'd like. try it with no encryption first, to see if you have any luck that way.
when i tested mine the first time, i actually used mobile hotspot to feed xbox live. i played 3 full rounds of call of duty!!! can't wait to bring my xbox camping one day and play online from the side of the river. only problem i see is there is no way to turn off text and phone if you wanted to keep people from disruptiong your session. as soon i get a text it lags for a second, and a phone call i guess would just kick you off completely.

Try updating the PRL on your device by dialing *228 send and option 2.
Also try repositioning the phone and closing running applications that may conflict with the 3G mobile hotspot.
