Droidx Update Produces Dead Pixels For The Camera And Camcorder Applications!

I had my DroidX Cell Phone since when it was released last week.
The Cell Phone was working very well with no dead pixels on any of the menu screens, none on any of the software applications, and none on the Camera or Camcorder applications.
I had checked for the dead pixels using different colored backgrounds, and using dark screens especially with the Camera and the Camcorder application.
On Tuesday afternoon I downloaded and installed the DroidX 1.13.604 Update.
The DroidX now has some dead pixels in the same location only in the Camera and Camcorder applications, and not in any of the other applications or menu items.
You need to use the Camera and Camcorder applications in very low light and viewing a dark screen and you will definitely see the white colored dead pixels.
If you using the Camera and Camcorder applications and you are looking at an object in a bright light or in an outdoors setting you will probably not notice the white colored dead pixels.
Since the dead pixels only occur in the Camera and Camcorder applications it is probably a software related bug.
Any comments?

That's a bummer. I installed the update and haven't had any issues, just checked the camera and camcorder and don't see any dead pixels either.
Guess the best thing to do is just keep an eye out to see if others start having the same issue. Might be worth taking it in to the store as well.

I used the camcorder in very low light yesterday and noticed a few blue "dead" pixels...but obviously they aren't really dead becase all others screens show they are fine.... I even mentioned it to my brother that I saw dead pixels...wonder if you are on to something here.

I've noticed this as well, but it's only due to the low light situation as you have said.

I hope this post is still alive...
The exact same thing happened to me... although the time-line of when i got my DX, the update and when I noticed the camera dead pixel are a bit tight.
I've searched everywhere to see what could have caused this and if anyone else has experienced this. From what I've read; since the dead or "Hot" pixel is on the Camera/camcorder only, I suspect its a fault of the CCD.
Found here: http://webpages.charter.net/bbiggers/DCExperiments/html/hot_pixels.html
This reading points the matter to a fault in the charge leakage of the pixel or set of pixels, (only in low light). One reader said his was caused by dust on the CCD... I cant see how a software update could cause this unless it aggravates the already semi-failing pixel... maybe different ccd voltage, or perhaps the wake time when the camera is activated provokes the pixel to stay lit... ? I dont know...
I plan to return it if they allow...
I have a question for you though, since you seem keen on tiny nuances of your device... Do you see any screen tearing, shredding, or marks in a specific area of the phone when scrolling at a specific speed?
Its really hard to describe, and reproduce... but its more prevalent when pressing then getting the red highlight in the upper third portion of the screen and when doing a horizontal scroll at varying speeds in the picture gallery... it will look like the edge of the moving image will (for a split second) shred, or almost tear. I looks like black lines like that of a hair comb. (the old-school ones) are cutting into the image.
anyway... ever see that?
hmmm?
