Dropped calls

Am I the only one experiencing dropped calls? The end call button is right in the middle of the screen so my cheek keeps touching it and ending the call. I've had more dropped calls using this phone than I've had in my 2 + years of using verizon. Is there a solution to this? I'm thinking of returning it.

I have not had this problem at all. You could turn your screen off during your calls. When I hold the phone to my ear, the "end call button and bottom half of the phone is about 1 inch from my cheek.

When I place the phone up to my ear to talk my screen automatically goes off. Then comes back on when I remove it from my ear.

Doesnt the screen shut off when held to the ear to avoid such mishaps?

I was pretty sure it did. If their phone is staying on maybe there is a setting that needs to be checked under call options.

Could a lock be put on the phone some how to prevent pushing that end button?

I'm still new to the Android scene, but I do know that with WinMo OS there were many custom programs which did this very thing.

I would imagine that it would not be that hard for a programmer to build an app that does this.

Edit: After a quick search I found this: Proximity Sensor app

It locks the phone when the sensor detects that it is close to your face. It's meant to be used for those people who have issues with the screen not timing out when up to your ear.
