Phone: Droid 1
Just about Exactly 1 year old (getting replacement under warranty from verizon)
Ok, I am basically looking for some good information.
My phone is a Droid 1 completely updated to android 2.2. I have the basic apps but have been running into a problem when it comes to actually making and receiving calls.
Example 1: I made a call to my grandmothers landline. It rings 2 times and i hear her pick up and then i hear beep and it disconnects me. After a few more tries the call does go through. Sometimes takes more than 2 tries.
What I have tried. I have reset phone, used no apps for a while, tried to reset phone completely, made sure I wasn't hitting the button with my cheek, and everything else i could think of.
**This works same with landlines, cell phones, any carrier**
Example 2:
I get called 10 times by my gf. I see 0 come through. This happens with landline or her verizon cell phone. This happens quite often and I am missing alot of calls.
**Tried lots of trouble shooting to no avail.**
Here is the problem. I baby me phone to where the only part of my phone with a problem is the black is kind of rubbed on the edges of phone to where you see a small amount of silver. screen is beautiful. I do not want to part even with a refurbished because mine would probably look nicer.
I called verizon first time. Tech said she reset something on her end. Seemed to work for a small while. Finally went out again. Second time tech said I should get replacement under warranty. I was literally calling the day before my warranty ended. I agreed.
I received the phone today and it looked like the space bar was going to separate from the phone. keyboard was in very poor shape. I took some pictures to keep in case verizon things I'm messing with them, then called to get another one shipped.
Other than not receiving calls and not getting calls through I am very happy with my personal phone. I almost would rather see calls not come through than give away my baby for a refurb.
Anyone have any ideas of what I could try with my device? I'm sending back device 2(1st refurb) and hoping the next one I get on 1/13 will be in much better shape.
Help me not have to replace my phone!
Thanks
Steve

But before I did, I would have them walk me thru a hard reset.
Sometimes that will help with ALL sorts of problems.
Godd luck!

I'm on 3rd replacement. Each came with a keyboard that is separated from the phone. It isn't terribly bad, but my phone looks nicer.
