E-mail Drop

I'm wondering if anyone can answer this question.  Our mail server was having issues and external clients, such as a phone, were unable to connect.  The problem finally got rectified but a droid didn't get connected right away. The phone is an HTC Incredible.

Will a Droid disconnect from the mail service if a number of attempts are made and it is unable to connect.  It seems to me that the user was finally able to get mail via the phone when they tabbed through their mail settings.  They didn't change anything but it appeared that doing so reestablished the connection.

If anyone knows the answer to what happens when a mail server can't be found then  I'd be glad to know for future problems.

Hi dvasquez! It isn't a design specification of that model of phone to discontinue synchronization in that fashion. If I had to speculate on why this happened, it could have been that a minor aspect of the email settings within the device or the server simply needed to be flushed or refreshed.
