I don't believe you can. I checked notification in the settings and it doesn't even allow vibration only, as far as I can see.
Following your suggest path- when I open "messaging settings" the E-mail category is not highlighted, therefore I can't open it to change any settings- solution?
Touch you Launcher Icon, if you’re using “Gmail” then touch that icon, at the bottom of your phone touch the Menu icon (the one that is on the far left of the phone looks like 4 boxes.) Then go to settings, and uncheck the email notifications.
That was a good question. If you have a computer you can download the manual to your computer. It's about 68 pages but if you download it, you can search what your looking for.
