Early upgrade still available for Droid X?

My contract ends in Nov. 2010, so my New Every 2 is up July 25th. After debating between the Dinc and the X for a long time, and then finally playing with the X, I really want one! I am seeing the shipping date getting pushed back every hour (from July 23 to now July 27) and I am afraid that waiting until my upgrade date will push it even further back.

My only question now is.... since the stores are all sold out and I can't upgrade it ONLINE before July 25th (it won't register the early upgrade), is that early upgrade even possible now?? Or do I have to wait? :smileysad:

The Droid X is in high demand so the shipping will be delayed. When you place the order, we will give you an order number and also email you when the phone is shipped. The date shown when you placed the order is the original estimate so it is subject to change based on availability.

Okay good... but my real question is, can I do the early upgrade online? Will it still allow me to do it without penalty since on my account, my upgrade date isn't until July 25th? Or do I have to go in-store for that?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well since I had my NE2 due on July 21st, but they would not give it to me early in the store either. I had to use our broadband card NE2 to get $50 off and now I'm waiting until Thursday to get my husband the phone (or at least order one) with my $100 off.

The 3G Smartphone Early Upgrade promo is something that is available exclusively in-store.. You do get an instant rebate on it though, instead of the normal mail-in one :smileyvery-happy:
