Email Problems

Hello, Im Have 3 e-mail accounts and would like to put them all on the HTC email widget they provide on the phone. (the one that takes the whole screen) and two of the email accounts are Gmail accounts. Anyway how can I get email notifications without getting DOUBLE email notify, and when I uncheck the mail account no email comes in at all without manually checking it. Please help thx.

What do you mean by "double email notify"? When you get an email there's a green icon on your mail icon and also a white envelope icon in the notification bar (top of the screen). If I understand correctly, you want to disable one of those notifications?

NO I get a notify from gmail, and HTC widget, and if I disable GMAIL under settings, then I wont receive the email at all under HTC mail widget.

Ok. I wanna help you so let me make sure I understand your problem. You're using an HTC Mail widget (I'm using the same one) and in that widget you have 3 POP email accounts 2 of which are by Gmail. You wanna disable notifications of your Gmail account but you wanna keep those of your 3rd non-Gmail account. If that's the case then you need to unsync your Gmail account from your phone. To do so, go to your Settings, then Accounts & Sync. There you will see your Google email account. Make sure it's unchecked and not synced!

Or, you can go to your gmail account settings in the MAIL application and then to Notifications settings and uncheck "Email notifications".

YEA that did not work either you got the drift of what im saying, but when I uncheck or un sync the gmail account it still will not come through to the HTC mail account. Only time it comes thorough is when I manually check it.

Alright, so now that we're on the same page tell me what are you trying to accomplish.

You said "but when I uncheck or un sync the gmail account it still will not come through to the HTC mail account". Of course, if you unsync your Gmail account from your Settings or from your Mail widget you will not get email notifications for THAT Gmail account.

In this case you will only get notifications from your 3rd, non-gmail account. Is this what you want?

No, I wont to get emails from all 3 accounts.... But when I have gmail synced I get TWO DIFFERENT notifies, I only wont to receive the one white letter that comes in at top left of screen not that + gmail logo.        for all 3 email accounts. ONE NOTIFY

Ok, I got it.

1. Go ahead and sync one of your Gmail accounts in the Settings (the one your phone is associated with)

2. Long-press on an empty space on one of your screens, choose "Programs" and tap on "GMAIL"

3. Once you see that Gmail icon on your screen, that's the account that is associated with your phone. You can add a 2nd Gmail account. To do so click the Gmail icon you've just placed on your screen and it will open your main Gmail account. Tap MENU and from the menu click ACCOUNTS. On the bottom of your screen you will see "Add account" button. Tap it and then choose GOOGLE for a new account.

Now, whenever you get a new mail on EITHER of your Gmail accounts you will get the big, white M letter on the top left corner of your screen. That M letter is only associated with GMAIL application, not with HTC Mail widget.

4. Go to your HTC Mail application and REMOVE Gmail accounts from there so that you don't get DOUBLE notifications (from Gmail application AND from HTC Mail application). Now, your HTC Mail widget is only left with non-gmail account (lets say Yahoo). Now when you get a new Yahoo mail you will get a separate notification on the top left corner of your screen in a form of a white envelope.

nevermind thats not what im tring to do....

I want all 3 accounts (2 gmail 1 yahoo) to be on HTC mail widget...

and only get the while envelope notify, not one HTC mail notify and 1 gmail.
