Email settings and syncing

I have a couple of questions on the stock email program.

1. For one of my accounts, I prefer that email not be automatically synced - it's an account that I want, on occasion, to check manually. However, there seems to be no "No sync" option. I could select "Once a day," but for this account, even that downloads too much of the email in this account.

2. I have two different emails from the same service---that is usernameA@charter.net and usernameB@charter.net. However, it appears that  the sync settings only hold for the account charter.net and not for each username. In other words, I cannot set separate sync schedules for usernameA and usernameB. Is there a workaround?

3. Is there a better email program out there?

Thanks much!

There are several email apps in the market, the only one I have used is Yahoo! mail, of course that only handles yahoo accounts.  From what I've heard, lots of people like K9 mail.  I'd give that one a try, as well as some others and see what you like.

Depending on how the email account is setup in the Mail application, you should be able to select a "Manual" sync. This is option will only sync when you open the email app.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

How can you set "manual sync?" Where in the Settings is this option?

Thanks!

Open "Mail". Press menu button > more > settings > Send & Receive > update schedule > select the peak times or the off-peak times > scroll to the very top of time options and manual should be available.

This is what I see on my Tbolt for a pop3 account. Your settings might be different.

Should be the same for the Dinc2, that menu string is unique for Sense devices.

You can also get to the same thing by going to Settings > Accounts & Sync > select the email account > update schedule
