Where does the information sent to the Emergency App that's on the Droid X come from? Is there a web site we can go to for more information about the app?
I believe the app is akin to the Emergency Broadcast System, so more likely than not you will never see anything at all from it and it will just sit on your phone.
It looks like it grabs alerts from that system (the same one which drives freeway signs) and posts them to your phone.

I think you made a very good guess. Wish VZW would publish a little more info on its operation.
Does the program track your position and only send alerts for the area you are in? Amber alerts could be an issue if you get them nationwide and not just locally.
Excellent idea, but would like to find out more on it. If it's the VZW answer to the FCC order, then it would be nice to know that.
