How to enable my location on my new Droid 2?

Tap menu button. Tap Settings>Location & Security>Enable Assisted GPS. Be forewarned, however, keeping this on will eat up the battery real fast. Only use it when you must.

Really? I thought it would only use the battery if you were using an application that used GPS. So if the GPS indicator isn't on, no extra drain.

Thank you mortb for that excellent answer. I would like to confirm that turning on the GPS on your phone will in fact have an effect on your battery life.
