Erasing 8GB Internal Storage

Ok to sum up the issue I was testing the theory of my phone being lost. I used the alternate method of erasing my phone using the power key and volume down key and choosing the clear storage option.  After the phone rebooting when I went back into my phone I noticed that all of the data in the 8GB storage was still there although the phone was erased.  IMy question is is the only way to erase this memory is by going into the phone?

I would like to suggest that you try using the preferred method of the hard reset on

your device. I have provided a link for you with the steps that will assist you in

performing the reset. A tip for added protection of your important information: Remove

your SD card.

That doesn't solve the problem, I am not trying to hard reset my phone I am trying to prevent my information from being retrieved if the first method of erasing the device is not used.  If I were to put information on my internal storage with my phone locked lose it the first method would not be an option only the second which means that all of my information would be available, is there only one method to erase the internal storage?

What security apps are you using? The best one, and it's free, is Lookout. It does a great job of finding your phone and getting rid of all information.

I have Lookout , Wavesecure and the asurion app, Lookout free does not offer a security wipe feature for my device for free, wave secure does not wipe the internal 8gb memory only the sd card and the primary phone memory and the asurion app does not wipe.
