Error 110

I keep getting Error Code 110. Is there any way to solve problem without resetting phone? I have messages on the phone that I do not want to lose that are work related. I have had issues with a different phone and after several resets and 4 different phones, all problems that were not my fault the only solution was to purchase a new phone to replace a brand new phone.

Thank you for any help in advance.

There are several SMS back up apps in the market if it should come to that.

I am unable to download or update anything in the market. I uninstalled the updates and cleared the cache and still have the error.

Yeah, huh, didn't think about that part, have you tried clearing market data? I did a quick google search and found a few threads (here and elsewhere) but nothing with a posted solution.

I went to try and clear it, but I was unable to do so. Clear data was not lit for me to press.

@kelsmith4,

Are you seeing this error 110 message when you attempt to do something specific on the phone or is it always displayed?

I understand you being hesitant about performing a hard reset on your phone and the importance of being able to keep the saved text messages on your phone, especially the ones from your work. You mentioned that you are unable to download any apps to backup your text messages. One thing you can do to keep the text messages is forward them to your email. Once you have forward them to your email you can then perform a hard reset on the phone. Click here for additional information the hard reset and how to perform.

If you still see the error message after performing the hard reset please contact us so we can further assist.

I have had the same problem and it started yesterday. It only occurs when I try to install anything from the marketplace. It will download an app but will give "Unknown Error code during application install "-110"" when it tries to install. This just started yesterday and something is affecting the previously installed apps.

One of the first solutions to this problem can be to clear the Market's cache and data. To do this, head into your Settings app and go to Applications > Manage Applications > All > Market and hit "Clear Data" (this should clear the cache as well).

Go back to your list of apps and to the same with the Download Manager app, too. Then, go back to the Market and try to re-download the app in question. If it works, you're all set. If not, it's likely an SD card issue. In the case the data clear doesnt work. Try unmounting the SD card and installing again.
