Error when downloading apps

Whenever I try to download or update an app from the marketplace, I get an error message saying "error: cannot install on USB device or SD card" I don't believe it is due to memory issues, since I have 5.26 GB available on the SD card and 6.02 GB available on the phone. Is there any way to fix this problem without having to do a factory reset and losing the apps I have already downloaded (including ones that were free once but no longer are)? Is anyone else having this issue? Please help!

So I decided to try to see if there were any answers by searching about it in google, and I found out that if I moved my apps to the phone then tried to update it, it worked. Apparently, it's due to a problem with a temporary file that some apps have that is stored when the app is on the sd card.

that is the site where i found out what happened. Rather than going through the whole process of what that site says to do, I just moved the app i was trying to update to the phone and then updated it, which worked fine.

I have sort of the same problem except I'm not downloading any apps.  I have a LG  Vortex & suddenly I'll get a notification that my phone storage is low.  I've deleted all my apps & I still get that message at times.  It won't let  me receive new text messages or anything when that happens......does anyone know how to fix that?

Please read this thread in the link. Your low space problem is a different issue than the one presented by the original poster of the thread you posted onto.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
