Is there any reason that the Droid 2 Global would not receive push corporate email when set up through corporate sync properly? I have heard mixed feedback from members of the tech world stating that the only Verizon android that support "real push" email is the HTC Thunderbolt. By push email I mean should the device be receiving email in a timely manner close to the same time it is hitting the server. We are testing several Droid 2s on a company server supporting active sync and we are receiving very long delays in receiving emails and having to go in an refresh every so often.
Other than this, when composing emails in airplane mode while travelling shouldn't the device automatically send what is in the outbox upon reactivating the device on the data network?
So far it seems that the device is amazing for many things however it is far behind some of the older Windows Mobile and Palm devices that we have utilized in the past.
Anyone have any advice?? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi awhite332,
It was not mentioned but are you using the Corporate email data plan for $44.99 or the data plan feature for $29.99. The lower cost plan does the access the email without the server function on your device. You may need to be on the corporate plan to have the corporate email function with pushing email automatically to your device from the server with it properly setup to sync.
Perhaps you can check your email settings for the auto sync function is enabled or check to see if you have too many apps running that could cause the email not to function properly. If the issue it happens again please check yours Settings, Applications and Manage Applications. Then click on the running tab and see if you can kill any unnecessary applications that are running. Click on each one at a time and until the screen comes up click on clear data. As a last resort, maybe un-install your corporate email, reboot the device, reinstall your Corporate email.
Lastly, the device does not always automatically send out email just composed as they may need to manually sent out after you reconnect to the network after coming out of airplane mode. I am providing a link that you can refer to as a reference for your device. The link is: http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/index.html
