After the update my phone did all the fun stuff - battery life non-existent, no e-mail through Exchange, etc. Took it in and did the hard reset which initally did nothing but eventually brought it back to semi-normal with the very large exception of NO EXCHANGE E-MAIL!! Received a new phone and was assured that the Exchange issue was fixed and would work on my new phone. Nope. Same issue and when I called Verizon support he basically told my tough s*&#@. Thanks Verizon. I have several employees that use these phones and have the same issue. One employee took it into the Verizon store and after 2 hours of trying to get it to work, the Verizon employee issued a $20 credit so he could buy Touchdown (which worked). Also the tech support I talked to said he had never heard of this issue (and also was unwilling to offer me a credit to purchase Touchdown). GREAT SUPPORT VERIZON! You guys blew it on this one - basically Verizon blames Google and doesn't care that it's customers who bought phones that worked originally no longer work. The worst customer support I have experienced.

Agreed. Having same issues and support's answer was install touchdown. I didn't get the credit!

I'm having the same issue - with the phone AND with Verizon's customer service!
1) I installed the mandatory software upgrade on Fri Sep 3 and haven't received my corporate email via Exchange ever since. I'm going on week 4 with no Exchange email.
2) I spent 1 hour at the Bellevue Square Verizon store who were aware of the problem and arranged to send me a replacement phone.
3) I received the replacement phone an hour before leaving for my vacation so I brought the new AND the old phone on vacation with me & spent an hour during my vacation to visit the Verizon store and they STILL couldn't fix it.
4) My corporate IT dept, on 2 separate occasions, confirms it's not a firewall/security issue.
5) I spent another 80 minutes on the phone on Sep 26 with Verizon support and the last step was to do the factory restart which STILL didn't fix the problem.
Verizon can't take back the phone. Why? Because it's been over 30 days since I purchased it.
This is Verizon's way of taking care of their loyal customers.

The 2.2 update broke every Droid at our company that was receiving Exchange email.
So the solution from Verizon to the phone not working as advertised is to buy a third party app.
The Droid phones are advertised to have Exchange support through activesync. It is a know issue that the Android 2.2 push broke Exchange support for anyone who had it working prior to the 2.2 push.
Verizon needs to own this problem and get a fix other than "use touchdown" or give us Touchdown for free.

Maybe you should read the hundreds of other posts from people having the same problem before you make such a statement. Do you have a solution for the problem(s) they are having?

Off the Motorola support forum on this issue, I heard Verizon was supposed to issue a fix for this problem yesterday (January 11th) Has anyone had a chance to try this or heard of such a fix?
