Extended Battery

Picked up an extended 3600mah battery and cover from amazon.

It has been GREAT!

Can actually use the phone w/o micro-managing battery usage. Used Golflogix for 18 holes! And STILL had a usable phone afterwards. Even forgot to turn off gps for a couple of hours after the round, but still got through the day with a usable phone.

It really makes a huge difference in usability.

Disadvantages: the phone becomes a tad bulkier. My really slick Seidio Surface clip no longer fits - though I am planning to do some cutting and MAKE it fit. The Nite-Ize sideways case LARGE works well. Medium - not so much. And the Samsung mobile bracket probably would not fit (I didn't get one).

I encourage all of you to get an extended battery for your charge phone whether it's 2600 or 3500/3600 mAh.

BTW, my 3500 mAh battery is still working perfectly...I still love it. Also, for those that bought a 2600 mAh battery that came with a special color-matching back for the Charge phone, this is back that says Google on it, that color-matching back fits with my extended 3500 mAh battery and, of course, it looks much better than the plain black colored back that comes with the 3500 mAh battery.

For those of you that have tried everything else and you're still having problems I am again urging you to buy a new battery. It's worth a try! This post and the URL in the post below it will lead you through the past discussions of an NEW extended battery. If you do get a new battery please charge it at least 6 hours (overnight is better) using the 110 volt 1 amp charger that came with your Charge phone BEFORE starting to use the battery in your phone.

I have added a photo showing how much thicker the Charge phone becomes with an extended battery. On the other hand if this extra thickness is unacceptable just get a new regular 1600 mA battery and the thickness will be the same as it is currently.

BTW, my Charge phone with the extended battery weighs 7 Oz.
