Extended Network & 3G

Question for you... My daughter has a Droid, as do both my wife/self. Her Droid at our house shows "Extened Network" on Home Screen, and she gets 3G speed. Our Droids(wife and mine)does not show extended network and we only get 1G Coverage. I have checked the settings and they are all set the same way.. How do I get this fixed?

Can someone tell me how to get on to the Extended Network? I have to drive about 25 miles to get onto VZW Network. I would gladly do that if I could do *228 an option #2. Would that do it, or must I end up on the phone with support...

It's possible it could work but no guarantee. Out of curiosity, go into settings on your daughters droid, scroll all the way down and choose About Phone and Status near the top. You should see a PRL version. Is it the same on both? Also if you haven't tried calling tech support (*611), you may want to see what they say?

Thanks for the reply, and I will check on her phone for the settings. Then will may try the *228 op. #2. If they don't work will contact CS

I tried to do the *228 but no good. I copied down all my daughters settings and her PRL was 51926, and mine after update was 36005. Plus here Roaming was set to Extended Network, and mine was set to no roaming. CS has put a push in to copy daughters and we should be fine then, I hope. Thanks for the help....

I think you might want to have your roaming settings changed (to extended network)

Well second call to CS and this gal told me that it was because I am still using my Alltel Phone Plan and the only way I can get this changed is to switch to a more $$$ Plan on VZW. I do not buy that for a second. Am I really going to have to do this?

The CS Gal I spoke with on Tuesday said it is not a problem and she would do a push to change to the settings that we needed, well nothing changed at all.

The coverage map shows we are in the extended Network Area, so? That did not help me at all. I can drive either North or South for about 10 miles and I can get 3G and be able to do the *228 and it works fine.

My PRL is 36005 and wife's is 36002 while my daughters is 51926. Daughter phone shows Roaming as Extended Network, ours shows NO Roaming. Plus daughter has for Mobile Network Type as Digital @ 3G, ours says CDMA- 1xRTT..

This is driving me nutts... HELP!!!!
