Go into settings and manually set the date to any time prior to June.

The work around was a good temporary solution, however, we have released a new software that will be pushed to your device that will fix this and provide other enhancements. Not a FIX it's a work around and I found that setting the date back messes with your Google account syncing and messages can get confusing when there not in order.
You can have a widget that creates a mobile hotspot. It works great that way. I have switch pro but you can use elixir and it is free.
